The Marston’s culinary team reached out to us during the development of their new brand, ‘Grandstand’, created specifically for select locations. The concept of ‘Grandstand’ focuses on crafting a dynamic sports bar atmosphere, showcasing football and other major sporting events on state-of-the-art screens throughout the venue.
Each Grandstand site is designed to capture the electrifying ambiance of a stadium, providing local communities with an accessible and thrilling alternative to attending live sports events. In addition to Marston’s main menu, the Grandstand bar food menu offers a carefully curated selection of handheld dishes, conveniently presented in disposable paper containers.
Solution
Following our initial briefing, we embarked on researching and developing the disposable food packaging. It was crucial for the packaging to reflect the Grandstand brand and echo the offerings typical at sporting events.
Each container had to be robust and capable of supporting the limited but diverse menu, which included items like pasties, chicken wings, curry pies, loaded fries, and nachos. Our objective was to create high-quality disposable packaging that not only looked appealing but also complied with stringent food safety regulations, all while meeting remarkably tight deadlines!
Our team meticulously designed several prototypes for each food container, working closely with the Marston’s team to arrive at the final decision. This effort led to impeccably branded containers, available in various sizes, lined with greaseproof paper to elevate the brand image and enrich the sports bar food experience.
We’re thrilled to see the new Grandstand packaging being tested in select venues, where it’s already a big hit! It’s a joy to be part of Marston’s innovative brand journey, supporting them with our expert packaging design process, and we’re excited to expand this packaging triumph as more venues continue to launch.
