The Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire is well-known for its beautiful stately home and lavish gardens. With over 600,000 visitors a year, and oozing with charm, culture, and history, it’s an ideal place to enjoy a classic English Afternoon Tea. The Chatsworth team were keen to expand their delicious Afternoon Tea offering and make it accessible to people in the comfort of their own homes too.
Our brief was to create sustainable luxury packaging that would not only look great on the shelves in the Chatsworth Estate farm shop but also retain its aesthetic during transportation to people’s doors.
Because this was a trial project for Chatsworth, we were initially commissioned to produce 200 boxes. With aesthetics and durability at the forefront, our packaging solution consisted of a strong corrugated cardboard with a peel and seal closure for efficient construction and a rip strip for easy access on opening.
The Chatsworth design team brought the box to life with a sophisticated, simple design that subtly complemented the Afternoon Tea contents, consisting of, scones, brownies, shortbread, clotted cream, strawberry jam, and Yorkshire tea.
Brand colours can sometimes change during the printing process and on different substrates, so it was an absolute priority to get this correct and ensure brand guidelines were adhered to. Once all parties were happy with the packaging design, our team prepared the cutting form prior to production.
The packaging was kerbside recyclable and produced completely carbon balanced, making it a sustainable, practical solution for the Chatsworth brand.
The Afternoon Teas went down an absolute treat with online customers. So much so that we were commissioned to get the next batch in production! Watch this space…
