Monday 5th February marks the start of National Apprenticeship Week, a week dedicated to bringing businesses and apprentices across the country together to shine a line on the positive impact that apprenticeships make on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.
According to Apprenticeships.gov.uk, “74% of employers said apprenticeships helped them improve the quality of their product or service”.
As a family-run business, we’re no strangers to the positive impact apprenticeships bring, from providing tailored training to enhance our specific business practices, supporting growth, and helping young people to learn and grow with us as a company.
Natasha started in our sales and customer support team gaining hands-on experience at 16 years old and has since flourished with the business over the years. Similarly, Ollie, our Estimator, joined Birch via the Kickstarter scheme, a government-run initiative aiming to help young, unemployed people get into the workplace for a 6-month, government-funded contract. Ollie showed real promise and was offered a permanent role at Birch after his contract ended.
We know that University and further education aren’t for everyone, and the value an apprenticeship brings is second to none. An apprenticeship provides real hands-on experience in industry with a formal qualification as a bonus.
As a company, we’re proud to collaborate with some top education and training providers all with the common goal to facilitate growth and learning through training programs, courses, and apprenticeship-led schemes.
It’s a privilege to produce numerous educational tools and branded products for students, whether they’re learning a trade, completing an apprenticeship, or working towards a degree, and we think they have a safe home here at Birch HQ. Our warehouse is currently home to hundreds of awards certificates, brochures, training manuals, and promotional materials, all of which are picked, packed, and delivered as and when the customer needs them.
In addition, we understand the significance of working with our customers to support and strengthen their brand, attracting and retaining learning talent through promotional products such as event delegate packs, recruitment packs, pens, notebooks, mugs, and uniforms.
Find out how we’ve helped create delegate packs with a wow factor for NOCN, and how we worked in partnership with BPEC to streamline their processes and protect their brand.
